Lemon Drop-Brown Sugar Scrub

Made with Dark Brown Sugar, Jojoba oil, and Avocado oil and no preservatives. This scrub is so moisturizing I almost feel like I don't need to moisturize my skin after the shower. Actually, in all honesty if you cleansed your skin first and then used this, you wouldn't have to. This scrub is super rich and using this twice a week works to moisturize and even out your skin tone. Made for your body and can be used on your face if you don't mind the rich oils.

For now I named it Lemon Drop- Brown Sugar Scrub. What do you think? Do you think you can come up with an even better name? Let me know in the comment section below or leave me a comment on the Facebook page! http://www.facebook.com/Nukhara

*Keep in fridge for longer shelf life

Main Ingredients

Dark brown Sugar: Exfoliating the skin with a brown sugar scrub cleans and tightens pores giving the skin a more even uniform appearance; pores look smaller, skin tone more even. It can also diminish the damage to the skin caused by acne and other skin conditions.Using a brown sugar scrub improves your skin's ability to retain its natural moisture balance.

Jojoba Oil: Can do wonders for your skin. It can help improve your tone, elasticity, fine lines, pores, and texture! In addition to this, Jojoba oil has antibacterial properties which help cleanse the skin from the inside out. Every skin type can benefit from this oil, because it's the most closest oil to human sebum. So even if you have oily skin, Jojoba may actually improve the oiliness in your skin.

Avocado oil:  It is often used for people with dry or mature skin or people suffering from eczem or psoriasis. It is very a rich and extremely deep penetrating oil, rich in vitamin A, D and E, lecithin, as well as potassium - known as the youth mineral.

Looking forward to hearing your funky ideas on names to give this scrub!

Vlog: Product Making

Yesterday I've must have been up about most of the night.
Whipping up concoctions, going through trail & errors, and getting my hands quite... clean! I had a lot of fun doing this and it was sort of therapeutic. However, speaking of concoctions, I've always loved science in a way, but I just hated dealing with the 'boring' stuff and I've always thought there had to be a more enjoyable way to love science, bring out my creative side and still look... Cute? Well I can tell you, I've definitely found it and it's here to stay. Keep posted for more photos of my creations which I'll be handing out as samples to all the beautiful people who want to do it naturally.

Have a good weekend!

Growing Strong Nails

Growth
Nails grow at about half an inch ever month. This is about one-third to one-half as fast as hair. Nails tend to grow faster in the summer than winter and more so between the ages of eighteen-twenty-eight. They also grow faster during pregnancy. Nails tend to grow faster on the hand you use the most than the one you don't use as often.
As an adult, your nails can take up to eight to nine months to grow, while a child's nail can take up to three to four months.

Nail Polish
All nail polishes are nothing more than refined versions of auto mobile paint :O. Nail polish can actually dry and stain the nails as well as limit oxygen exposure to the nails. If you do use it for special occasions look for those that are free of toluene and formaldehyde brands such as; No Miss, Sante, and Firoze. These are the most toxic free brands and are available at Natural health food stores.

How To
The best way to grow your nails are eating: fresh fruits and vegetables, raw nuts and seeds. To nourish the nails from the inside, eat more oats and include sea vegetables in your diet. Drink three cups of horsetail tea daily (can be found at natural health food stores), which is rich in the mineral silica. If your nails are very brittle, include three tablespoons of freshly ground flax seeds to your diet and Essential fatty acids can improve hand and nail quality.

To make your nails stronger, soak them in warm olive, sesame, or wheat germ oil with four drops of lemon essential oil for 10 minutes. Or soak your nails in mashed kiwi, green papaya, or pineapple for 10 minutes. Your nails will benefit from the natural enzymes found in these fruits and soaking your nails in buttermilk also takes away brown spots. If your hands are stained, add a bit of fresh lemon or lime juice and use a gentle brush. Soaking nails in horsetail and nettle tea will strengthen both the nails and cuticle.

Hope that helps!

Finally A Way to Gain Weight!

If you're like me, you've been seriously struggling with gaining weight and I don't direct this to one gender, because I know not only many woman, but men who complain about not being able to gain weight for years. Actually, I've come to terms  with my weight this summer and decided that I love the way I look. However, and not to sound ungrateful, sometimes I wish I had a figure of a woman and not a little girl. Especially when you are under stress and drop another 5-10 on top of that! I don't have the room for weight loss and I need every pound on my body to stay on. Dropping weight only makes me look hungry...Which I always am, but what can I eat or drink that will help me gain just a few more pounds so I can finally fit into those sexy Levi jeans without the gap in the back?

I was reading this book, 'Beauty by Nature' by Brigitte Mars (Beauty by Nature, 2006) and she had a solution. She suggested that, ' avocados, bananas, dried fruit, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and nut butter' are all things that can help you gain a little extra where you need it. I haven't tried it yet, but I am heading to my grocery store tonight and picking up every last ingredient on the list. Join me and diary your success in the comments section below! May you revel your most beautiful self ever!

Weight Gain Smoothie

Add one or two of these a day to your regular meals to increase weight gain.

2 cups raw almond milk
1.5 rip banana
3 pitted dates, soaked for 20 minutes
1 tablespoons raw tahini

Combine all the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.

Short & Sweet: 4 things you DO NOT want in your natural cosmetics

There are so many things you don't want to be in your natural products, click here (http://nukhara.blogspot.ca/2012/06/why-product-choicecan-be-dangerous-to.html) to find out why. However, some so-called "natural" products still slip in some things that can be a real harm to not only your hair and skin, but your body.

1. Artificial colors: Potential carcinogens* cancer causing by-products. Steer clear of FD+C No.6 and FD+C Green No.6

2. Fragrance: Potential problems- dizziness, skin irritation, and hyper-pigmentation and have over 200 ingredients 'Fragrance- Free" usually uses a smell masking chemical. Look for words like "natural fragrance" or whose scents come from essential oils.

3. Paraffin: Derived from petroleum or coal. It can be a skin irritant and clog pores

4.  Sodium Lauryl Sulfate- A detergent and emulsifier that may cause drying of the skin due to degreasing effects and can be irritating. The drying interferes with the skis barrier function, making it easier for chemicals to enter. when combined with a # of other ingredients SLS can form carcinogens

Short & Sweet: Skin Enemies!

Do you know what will be sure to break down your skin? Sun, smoking, pollution and alcohol are all things that can have a drastic effect.

Sun: 90% of premature againg is linked with overexposure to UV rays. Be sure to always use suncream.

Smoking: 4,000 chemical compounds are produced and may be absorbed to the skin. Alternativley- quit! or use "American Spirit Cigarettes" which are chemical free.

Pollution: Switch to cleaning materials and choose body and face creams featuring antioxidant ingredients. I strated using white and apple cider vingear to clean my bath tub, kitchen counter and floors!

Alcohol: Dehydrates the skin which leads to broken or swollen capillaries especially on the nose and cheek area. It destroys the vitamins and minerals needed for healthy complexion. Solution? Cut down to one or two glasses of wine a day, and maintain a adeuate intake of essential fatty acids. Read: (http://nukhara.blogspot.ca/2012/07/i-spoke-to-you-about-foods-that-will.html)
