Nu'Khara: A Birthday story

My product is made from courage, from smiles, from laughter, from late nights, from fright, from mistakes, from survival, from struggles, from life, from heart. My products are made from me... Ever before realizing Nu’Khara, it remained an unlocked thought in my cranium unacknowledged. I was pregnant with child with a pantry full of products that all seemed too risky; to not only the health of the life inside me, but to mine as well. I thought, if prescribed medicine is now dangerous because of pregnancy, hasn’t it always had a negative effect somehow? And if so, how safe will Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate be on my skin? Assuming you all know that 60% products is absorbed into your skin and into your blood stream.

Keri Lotion, that’s where the key was slowly rotated. I still remember my mom giving me the lecture about the type of products I was using on my skin and hair and the effects it would have on my health. Of course, I threw her notion away, to me she was on a different planet (a much cleaner one) and I was still on the planet they call naive and without conscience. Oblivious to the world and what I thought a company’s word meant to me. I bought in. They all said the same thing; it was generic, it was “innocent” and it was being used by many. Eventually I grew tired of getting the same results-which was nothing, I was tired of paying for something that only lasted 1-2 weeks (that did not do anything special), I was tired of someone else deciding what was supposed to be good for my skin-without explain how it’ll benefit me.

I read and read and read. My eyes and brain were in sync with the words and the warm saliva on the tip my fingers, told the pages, which told my heart I had fallen in love with how I will contribute to lives of my family and to the many people around the world. The obsession with Nu’Khara was born on June 3rd 2011. I emptied out my pantry and decided to make a plan on how I was going to change my life. With a new set of rules, choices, responsibilities, opinions and attitude… I have. In the summer of June 2012 Nu’Khara was born into a lover of beauty, health and certainty. Nu’Khara has come to share the story that now shows truth in a bottle. Nu’Khara allows you to choose a much higher standard of care, that makes you astonishing inside and awe-founded at the person you see before you.

Nu’Khara~ One with God, one with peace, one with love

So can you please do me a huge favour and at least leave a comment on what you like about your go-to Blog, what else you would like to see and how I can help you? Product Making for Sale!

Hey everyone!

I know I haven't come up with anything new, I've been so busy with school. However, I do have so many post that I will have for you by the end of this week. The agenda for this week is hair, hair, hair and teas :D. I know kind of random, but you'll see how teas can actually help your hair grow.

Anyways, I wanted to come and share what I've been up too! If you have been following my Facebook Fan Page, you'd know that I'm setting up shop soon to sell all-natural beauty products. I've made and perfected a Coffee Scrub, Twisting Butter and Body Butter so far and I'm excited to perfect my skills in soap making, bath & body oils, herbal bath tea bags, as well as chap sticks!

I've given away my first two products which were, 'Brown Sugar Coffee Scrub & Tropic Cocoa Bean Body Butter' and this is one of  the testimonial I've gotten!

"I love the scrub it exfoliates your skin a lot and gets rid of the dead skin, leaving a smooth and even skin tone. The change is noticeable and fast, plus it tastes good :). The butter so far has soften and relaxed my skin"

Take a look!
I am so excited to keep this going and I hope you  continue to follow my progress :).

At home Spa Day with the Girls!

My best friend called me yesterday and told me she wanted to plan something with girls, but wasn't exactly sure what to do. I thought about it for a minute and suggested; restaurant? 'No, been there-done that' Movies? 'Boooring.' Ah-ha! Spa? However, that idea was followed by my friend declining, because of all of us being in a position to hold onto the extra coins. Damit! What are we going to do that involves relaxing, penny pinching and still having a ball? Immediately I thought to my self, "of course!". We could do an 'at home spa day'. That way we can sit at home, gossip, drink wine, keep ourselves on a budget and look cute.

I have so many ideas and I though I could share some of them with you guys, so that you can do the same with your girlfriends. Here's our itinerary:

Step 1: We're going to start by setting the mood. By creating one area in your home that has a relaxed feel will tell your guest where everything is going to happen. In that space you can gather, eat and hang out. Offer everything from signature wines, water, iced-teas, and finger foods! Be sure to have some mellow music playing. It can be instrumental or even my favorite Shade.

* Light unscented or scented candles but, be sure to make sure it's a scent that everyone would like. This will create a very tranquil and peaceful feeling.

* Provide flavored ice cubes. Simply grate the peels from a lemon, lime or an orange  and place the shavings inside the ice cube tray. Fill it up with water as usual and add a few drops of juice from each fruit. This will offer a tint of flavor.

* Take any extra juice from your fruit and put it in the sink filled with Hot water. Soak washcloths inside the water for 20 minutes and then squeeze out any excess water. Throw them in the dryer and you have scented towels!

* Either hire an esthetician (if you have the funds) or decide who will take on the roll. Maybe even the hostess? Give massages. Take turns giving one another foot and hand massages, facials and pedicures.

Step 3: Create the menu! Have a selection of things for your friends to choose from including, finger foods, smoothies and fruit. Include the drink list as well and offer teas and coffee. (you can be creative and use construction paper!)

Step 4: Create a playlist. Put together a playlist that can have everyone relaxing. (Buy a dollar blank cd and burn it off your computer!)

Step 5: Set up the facial area. Make sure you have your area near a sink and next to a mirror to hear that 'wow!' factor

Step 6: Buy small take home bag. When you guys are done making your masks, scrubs, lotions, facial cleanser make sure you have little bags that your friends can put their creations in. You can even add loofahs, sleeping mask and small tin candles. (you can buy cheap containers and bottles from the dollar store)

Spa days are fun and a great way to bond with your friends. Everything i've mentioned can easily cost you under $50-$60 dollars and if you have 5-6 friends that's $10 dollars each to get suppies and ingredients! Ask everyone to bring a bottle of nail polish and you've got yourselves a date!

Summer time out- Blogging in!

Hello everyone! I've missed you all so very much. I mean I know I actually didn't make a 'formal' exit, but I did take some time off to sit back relax and take in some city air (not so nice). I have to say this summer has been a real experience for me. I didn't do much, but things have been thrown my way where I had to sit back and think about the things that I want for myself and my family. Summer is officially over for me and I intend to get my head back in the game of focus and determination. School opens in a couple of weeks and I'm ready for the task of waking up at 7:30a.m and making it there for 9:00a.m (pray for me).

It's not easy being a woman, then a young mom, and then a wife but sometimes you just have to roll up the socks, dust off your chest and start walking- a steady paced walk. We all have dreams. We all have goals. However, it's the ones that are persistent that will rise up and go somewhere. I want to be one of the very few testimonies to all the women and men who are doing bad all by themselves as an individual, that you can do it and while I’m working on becoming that testimony I would love all of your support.

With that said, I would like to hear how your summer went or is going since it's not officially over. How are you going to try and be the greatest? Either at work, school, being a parent, being a spouse, being a business women or man. What are your goals for the end of 2012 going into 2013?  I can not wait to share some of my goals with you all. Have an awesome weekend everyone!

Canada's Wonderland made me relapse!

Canada’s Wonderland made me relapse!

So, before I talk about all those “tedious” product health concerns (that you need to be aware about). I want to talk to you about how my journey is going and what I’ve been doing to transition all my bad eating habits. So, for the past few days, I’ve been trying really hard, “sticking it to the man” actually. I was eating:  Apples (very high in sugar by the way) & cheese, blueberries, salads, eating oatmeal, drinking water. I mean I got to say I was pretty impressed until… I went to Canada’s Wonderland yesterday.  Oh the troubles of being around too much of a “good” thing. I saw ice-cream, funnels cakes, cotton candy, Pizza Pizza and I started fighting with myself in my head. Over half an hour I then realized I couldn’t really hold myself back ( I so could have), but that’s not all! I was convincing myself that an Italian restaurant off of the premises would be much better, “it’s not that bad, and at least it’s not fast food, its homemade right?”  So wrong! You’re never going to believe what we had.

My friends and I ordered, (mmm…) a Mediterranean salad with feta cheese, ravioli with bolognaise, and a tomatoes & chicken pizza, it was A-mazing! We all shared it and we all had separate small plates, which controlled our food portions, but I ate so many carbs! I don’t mind gaining a few pounds in the right places (wink wink), but I of course I want the right foods doing that. I want my clear skin and the worst of all I was doing so well! I guess that’s what happens when you’re trying to transition, you fall off the wagon sometimes (let’s just not make it a habit!). I’ll keep you all updated on how it’s going this week and what I’ve been doing to slowly too convert over to the good side. Muhahaha! [insert evil laugh here]

Hello and welcome!

I have viewers!

Okay, so call me crazy, but just seeing 10 viewers just looking at my blog makes me feel all pins and needles! I'm totally excited about this journey and I know that everything I share with you, you'll be inclined to hear. I'm also sure that most of the stuff that I share with you, you've never heard before. That's because there are a lot of secrets in the Health and Beauty world. Sad, but true.

Anyways! Enough of the wining since we can fix that, I want to share a little about myself before I start to get down to the nitty gritty. My name is Shauntee , born and raised in Toronto. I am a college student currently pursuing Hospitality Managment with the hopes of continuing into something that  fits with what I love to do now, which is teach others, while still learning myself- about health and beauty.

So, why should you stick around? Well, I feel like I'm a cool, down to earth (sometimes I think I'm funny... I'm not) person who honestly just wants to help. It's weird because whenever I hear companies say that I'm like, " BOOGIS!". Ha, it's kind of funny now that the shoe is on the other foot. Truthfully I just want to show you how we both can get beautiful skin and hair, to see what our true potential is. I mean, don't you want to find out? No more clip-ins, weaves, braids, pimples, rashes etc. Just hair growing out of your own scalp and soft smooth skin. Moving on, what I'm really excited for are the Youtube videos (first video July 1st '12) and frugally priced videos that you can purchase (which  will be coming a little later on) that I will be doing for all of you.

Wow! Now, I've definitely have said too much. Please, If you have any questions, I've without a doubt have your answer. From; adults, babies, children, teenagers, pets... Okay, not pets, but I'm open! Have a good night and I hope your inclined to check back
